Practical & theoretical training in gas measurement & use of gas measuring instruments

As of 1 January 2015, the amended SOLAS Regulation III/19 requires mandatory enclosed space entry and rescue drills to be held every two months. Therefore, Norships in cooperation with Brussgaard is offering gas measuring theoretical & practical course based on Riken Keiki Instruments. The course is based on rules and regulations from: SOLAS – Atmosphere testing instrument for enclosed spaces, IMO ISM Code, SIGTTO /ISGOTT, STCW-95 Chapter V section A-VI § 12.

The purpose of this training course is to establish, maintain, and endeavour to improve a quality standard for the correct use and manning of gas measuring instruments. The course outline indicates a suggested allocation of time spent on each subject and course session divided into two activities – lecture and practice. ‘Lecture’ indicates time assigned to theoretical topics, classroom discussions, review sessions, etc. ‘Practice’ indicates time assigned to practical topics, exercises in callibration and maintenance of equipment and related activities.

Course workbook and Document of Evidence are included.

Norships AS and Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc. in Manila

on 25th of January 2019 signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver the Practical and Theoretical Training in Gas Measurement and Use of Gas Measuring Instruments Course in the Philippines. Under the agreement, Magsaysay’s trainers will deliver the training on behalf of Norships in the Philippines and Asian region.
